In 2022, 4 historical unions joined forces to champion workers’ interests in the impending labor agreement renewal. The Centrale des syndicats du Québec (CSQ), the Confédération des syndicats nationaux (CSN), the Fédération des travailleurs et travailleuses du Québec (FTQ), and the Alliance du personnel professionnel et technique de la santé et des services sociaux (APTS) united to create Front commun.
The revelation of this intrasyndical alliance in 2022 aligned with the 50th anniversary of the inaugural Front commun edition, which was initiated in 1972. We seized the opportunity to breathe some modernity into Front commun’s 1970s tagline and visual identity while remaining true to its historical roots and preserving the word Nous (Us) which strongly conveys its mission. The creative team emphasized the synergetic strength of this intra-union partnership, reflecting the struggle and solidarity uniting the four labor federations. The versatile pictogram logo we developed to symbolize this alliance was designed to be used independently or to be integrated into Front commun‘s signature.
The battle for the rights of public sector workers impacts each and every one of us. We’re thrilled to have lent our expertise to connect with union members and wider audience throughout Quebec.
