Sollicité
Sollicité
For the past 10 years, SAESEM (the Society for Environmental Action, Education, and Awareness of Montréal) has been a key player in environmental advocacy in the city, with iconic programs such as RebutRécup, Mégot Zéro, and Éco-quartier Ville-Marie in Peter-McGill. Despite these efforts, the organization struggled to gain widespread recognition and establish itself as a leader in environmental action across Québec. In this context, the non-profit turned to Molotov to help reintroduce its mission with a new name and a refreshed visual identity.
The Project
Brand Identity
The name “Sollicité,” suggested by SAESEM during a brainstorming session, quickly emerged as the ideal choice. “Sollicité” captures both determination and a call to action, reflecting the organization’s passionate commitment to its mission and its goal of collective mobilization. The name also evokes the words “sol” (soil), “ici” (here), and “cité” (city), highlighting Sollicité’s local roots and its environmental mission in urban spaces. Additionally, the concept of “solicitude”—caring attention to both the planet and the community—adds a compassionate and human dimension that aligns perfectly with the organization’s core values.
Concept and Logo
With its accessible programs and practical solutions, Sollicité takes a straightforward, positive approach, placing people at the heart of its projects. To tell its story and showcase its social impact, we opted for a bold, warm visual style that embodies movement and collective action. The identity is built around principles of movement, balance, and contrast, emphasizing the power of each individual gesture and the collective impact of those actions in driving change. Simple, clear shapes ensure the design is universally accessible, while the hand symbol represents the concrete actions of those involved in Sollicité’s projects, reinforcing the organization’s human-centered and inclusive approach.
The logo captures this collective energy through symbols of action, collaboration, and balance, with overlapping forms that harmonize to reflect the idea of a community united around a common goal—illustrating the strength of unity in protecting the environment.
Web Integration
We focused on making the user experience (UI and UX) more intuitive and enjoyable, ensuring that visitors can easily navigate the website’s various sections. A new blog section was added to provide a space for sharing information and raising awareness about environmental issues, further cementing Sollicité’s expertise in education. Additionally, the website’s structure was simplified, making essential information more accessible and encouraging users to engage more easily with the organization’s projects.
